Tools are implements made for construction, cultivation, and work with beasts. Nephi asked where he could find ore “that I may make tools to construct the ship,” then made a bellows from “the skins of beasts” and made fire by smiting two stones together. Nephi made tools from ore “which I did molten out of the rock” (1 Nephi 17:9-16).
Jarom reported that his people made “all manner of tools of every kind to till the ground” (Jarom 1:8). Ether’s people made tools “to plow and to sow, to reap and to hoe,” and tools with which they worked their beasts (Ether 10:25-26).
