Cultivation and Sowing are the tilling of land, planting of seeds, and raising of grain and fruit. “We did begin to till the earth” and “did put all our seeds into the earth,” which had been brought “from the land of Jerusalem”. The seeds “did grow exceedingly,” and “we were blessed in abundance” (1 Nephi 18:24).
“We began to till the ground” with “seeds of corn, and of wheat, and of barley,” with neas, sheum, and seeds of fruits (Mosiah 9:9). “I did cause that the men should till the ground, and raise all manner of grain and all manner of fruit of every kind” (Mosiah 10:4).
They made “all manner of tools to till the earth,” including tools “to plow and to sow, to reap and to hoe, and also to thrash” (Ether 10:25).
